Volunteer Opportunities
Share |

UPPO has a long and rich history of volunteerism. It has grown to be the dynamic organization that it is because of the incredible generosity and commitment of our member volunteers. There are a variety of opportunities to get involved with UPPO and help support and give back to the unclaimed property industry.

Serving on Committees

UPPO has a number of standing committees and also utilizes task forces as needed for short-term projects. Only UPPO members in good standing may serve on a committee. Review the committee participation guidelines and if you are interested in serving on a committee, please complete the committee interest form.

Speaking at a UPPO Event
UPPO invites subject-matter experts to register themselves as a topic expert in UPPO's Speaker's Registry. Individuals included in the Speaker's Registry will be included in searches conducted on behalf of organizations looking for unclaimed property experts, in addition to UPPO's education committees looking for individuals to present at the Annual Conference and during webinars.

If you are interested in speaking at future events, we urge you to update your personal member profile to indicate your willingness to speak and your expertise. Speaker selection is conducted using a standard Speaker Selection Policy to assure the best possible speakers for our attendees.

Writing for the UPPO Focus blog
UPPO is always seeking subject-matter experts to write for the UPPO Focus blog. If you’re passionate about a topic, an industry veteran, or would like to spark discussion among members, contact Tim Dressen at with a blog post topic idea. Please reference our blog submission guidelines for more information.

Helping UPPO grass-roots efforts
As more and more legislatures and regulatory agencies take on issues affecting unclaimed property compliance, advocacy has become an increasingly important role for UPPO.

Please take a few minutes to complete our Government Relations and Advocacy Survey to help us build our grassroots network. Responses will give us the ability to mobilize UPPO members when we are faced with legislative and regulatory challenges and opportunities.
