Unclaimed Property Focus is a blog written by and for UPPO
members, featuring diverse perspectives and insights from unclaimed property
practitioners across the U.S. and Canada.
We welcome your submissions to Unclaimed
Property Focus. Please refer to our editorial guidelines and UPPO's Social Media Policy when writing your blog post.
Editorial Guidelines
- Our editorial focus is
unclaimed property, including laws, procedures, regulatory practices and
professional education opportunities.
- Blog submissions should focus
on actionable advice or solutions to frequently encountered problems. Every
post should have at least one "takeaway” for UPPO members to implement in their
everyday work.
- Blog content must be
non-commercial in nature, though infrequent mentions of a specific product or
service may be permitted in the proper context.
- There is no word count limit
for submissions, but we prefer to use blog posts that are between 500 and 1,000
words in length.
- UPPO reserves the right to
edit or reject submissions for any reason. If you are thinking of writing a
post, feel free to send
us your ideas and we will respond as to whether we feel you are
addressing a topic of interest to our readers.
- Please include a photo or
graphic with your submission, if appropriate. Please remember to include proper
photo attribution, as you would for a quotation. Blog editors may add a photo
to your post based on its content.
- Third-party content and
reposts/cross-posts from other blogs are permitted, pending approval from the
original source.
-
Authors may cross-post their
published Unclaimed Property Focus articles on other blogs, but please include
a link back to the UPPO website.
Please contact Tim Dressen at tim@uppo.org with any questions about submitting
a blog post for consideration.
