US Supreme Court denies Taylor v. Yee cert

On Monday, Feb. 29, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to let stand a lower court ruling in Taylor v. Yee and not hear the case as requested by the plaintiffs in the case.


Though the high court is not hearing the case, Justice Alito writes in a concurrence note, “The convoluted history of this case makes it a poor vehicle for reviewing the important question it presents, and therefore I concur in the denial of review. But the constitutionality of current state escheat laws is a question that may merit review in a future case.”
