Our first scholarship recipient this year is Cayla Julius, daughter of UPPO member Cherie Julius. Cayla is a senior at Case High School in Racine, Wisconsin. This fall, she will begin college at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, where she plans to major in marketing and graphic design. Cayla has been a volunteer at her local zoo for four years and was the lead organizer of a mission trip to Houston last summer to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey. She is also active in her school's National Honor Society, Student Council, German Club, Patriot Club and Female Empowerment Club. She was named the Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year by the Racine Sports Hall of Fame.

This year’s second scholarship recipient is Lydia Rudden, daughter of UPPO member Fritz Rudden. Lydia graduated from Hopkinton High in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and is currently interning for her high school principal. She will begin attending Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts, in the fall. She was a National Honor Society member and made the honor roll during all four years of high school. She was named high school student of the month and won the Saint Michael’s book award. In addition to her studies, she played varsity volleyball and lacrosse.

Congratulations to both Cayla and Lydia for their achievements and ambition, and best of luck in their future academic endeavors.
