UPPO has a long and rich history of volunteerism. It has grown to be the dynamic organization that it is because of the incredible generosity and commitment of our member volunteers.
There are a variety of opportunities for you to get involved with UPPO and help to support the unclaimed property industry.
Committees
UPPO has a number of standing committees and also utilizes task forces as needed for short term projects. Please review the list of current committees. Only UPPO members in good standing may service on a committee.
Bylaws Committee
Operating under the direction of the UPPO Board, the Bylaws Committee will be responsible for maintaining the UPPO Bylaws and other governing documents.
Education Committee
Operating under direction from the UPPO Board, the Education Committee will plan the educational opportunities offered by UPPO.
Finance Committee
Operating under direction from the UPPO Board, the Finance Committee will set financial policies & procedures and assist with compliance with these policies & procedures.
Government Relations and Advocacy Committee (GRAC)
Operating under direction from the UPPO Board, the Government Relations and Advocacy Committee is responsible for creating an awareness of pertinent legislative, regulatory and policy issues.
GRAC- Awareness/Advocacy Subcommittee
Assists the UPPO Board in creating awareness of pertinent proposed and enacted policies, regulations, legislation and legal proceedings (including court determinations) and in advocating UPPO's position, if any, on same.
GRAC- Emerging Issues Subcommittee
Provides research on relevant issues as the basis for membership awareness and developing advocacy measures, as necessary.
UPPO Holders Exchange Committee
Operating under direction from the UPPO Board, the Holders Exchange Committee will manage the holders exchange program.
Member Services Committee
Operating under direction of the UPPO Board, the Member Services Committee will support new and existing members. Oversees the Members as Mentors Committee and Service Provider Committee.
Members as Mentors Committee
Operating under direction of the UPPO Board and the Member Services Committee, the Members as Mentors Committee will develop and maintain a mentoring program to provide guidance and support to new members.
Nominating Committee
Operating under direction of the UPPO Board, the Nominating Committee will facilitate the election process for new officers and board members of the UPPO.
Service Providers Committee
Operating under direction of the UPPO Board and the Member Services Committee, the Service Providers Committee will assist in providing members relevant information to about Unclaimed Property Service Providers.
Website Committee
Operating under direction of the UPPO Board, the Website Committee serves as an oversight committee to review and maintain information posted on the UPPO website.
